Baked Potato Soup

I know that it's been forever since I blogged. But it has been important to me to keep the Pray for Rolan page up. (It's still important, and I will update you all later.) But I also figure you're ready to see something new. So today I will "foodie" blog. My friend Carla and her husband Tom welcomed their 4th, yes, 4th little girl into the world on Friday afternoon. That gives them 4 girls under the age of 8. Wow! That's alot of estrogen for Tom to put up with!!!! :-) So, welcome to the world baby Caroline Elizabeth. (BTW those are 2 of the names I had picked out when I was pg with plowbaby....neither of which did plowboy let me choose). Later today, I plan to take them a batch of the following recipe. Baked Potato Soup: 4 large baked potatoes 2/3 c. butter 2/3 c. flour 6 c. milk 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 green onions 12 slices bacon, fried and crumbled 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1 c. sour cream Cut potatoes in half, and scoop out pulp, put i

Life is short. Pray hard.

I received unsettling news yesterday afternoon. The son of our friends Loran and Brenda is in a dire medical condition. He needs your prayers. Rolan is 12 years old, and faces several tests and surgeries in the days to come. The best news came last night that he had stabilized and came thru surgery #1 as good as could be expected. Please pray from Rolan, his family, Mom, Dad and 2 sisters, his team of doctors and all involved in his care. This is a special family, and they deserve our prayers and strength. And give your own little ones a extra long, tight hug today. God Bless, plowgirl

Sixteen years ago

Sixteen years ago today there was a terrible ice storm across Kansas. Sixteen years ago today there was also a wedding in the United Methodist Church in Cawker City, Kansas. That's where Plowboy and Plowgirl officially became PlowFamily! I'm glad that life has led us down the path that it has. We have a good life and a great little family. Enjoy a "through the years" review in pictures. Engagement picture Wedding Day taken for the Successful Farming article in 1999 taken for Church directory in 2007 Christmas 2008

Today is going to be a two post day. This post is a wrap up of Christmas and New Years. And anyone who remembers what they (we) were doing 16 years ago today will know what the nex post will be! Shortly before Christmas, I set up the "studio" in the dining room and made Plowbaby endure yet another photo session. Out of about 200 snaps, I may get 5 usable pics. This one is my favorite! During the Holidays, Plowbaby got sick (again). We ended up in Urgent Care (again). She's had strep throat, bronchitis, and an ear infection. Poor baby didn't feel good at all, but she's on the mend now. Unfortunatley, she shared the cold with her father, but he's also on the mend. For New Years Eve, Plowbaby went to stay with Grandma and Terry while Plowboy and I headed up to the City. We met some friends up at The Legends at Village West for a great meal, and wonderful conversation......all night long! We stayed up and chatted all night, and Plowboy and I headed home ab
