A Rolan update, and an impromptu NAT gathering

Image
Well, I'll let you see for yourself how our friend Rolan is doing. Look at this kid! Doesn't he look GREAT! Loran and family were here last night and today. We had a great time! Plowbaby had an especially fun time having someone play with her and fix her hair and nails. Lunch became an impromptu gathering of the NAT posters that had attended KC, but missed out on meeting Loran and family. NEMO Scott was here also to deliver and pick up machinery. Clockwise from the bottom left: Plowboy, Greg Stremel, Loran, my pesky BIL Tim, John Burns, and NEMO Scott. Brenda in the background Again, from Plowboy to the left: Hop-a-long's son Jonathan, Greg, Loran, brother-in-law, Hop-a-long, John Burns, and Scott. Brenda is in the background Same crew with Hop-a-long and Carolynn Burns in the background (BTW, if you wondered what I fixed them for lunch, it was lasagne, lettuce salad and green beans. Carolynn brought the garlic bread and the Super Good Brownies.) The Kid Crew. Plo...

Life on the farm is kinda laid back...................

It is dry enough for us to get back into the field, so yesterday I grabbed the camera to have in the truck as I was pulling tanks. This is what I've been using to pull tanks Life at 25 mph! (Some tanks pull faster than that, but not the one I had hooked on for this load) Just got Wes hooked up to a fresh tank The Terragators that are here to spread chicken poo. Otherwise known as the "poo flingers"! (These rigs don't belong to us, just spreading the poo on our ground) A beautiful spring sunset. (That doesn't mean the workday is done yet tho!) A common sight this time of year. A neighbor is burning off the edge of the field, and a waterway. Time for me to head back out and cycle the tanks thru for another day. Hope you all are enjoying your Spring also! Happy trails ~plowgirl

12 Steps

Hello. My name is Kim. I'm an addict. That should be my opening line to the "FaceBook Users Anonymous" group. I used to "myspace"...in fact I have 2 pages! A "plowgirl" page and my Derbydarlin' page. But since I've discovered FaceBook, the myspace(s) have gone by the wayside. I like FaceBook. It is "real time" and quite user friendly. I love catching up and reconnecting with classmates from grade school, high school and college. Not to mention family, demo derby friends, NAT friends, and other acquaintances. It's great to put a "grown up" face on someone whom I've not seen in 20 (or so) years, and also very interesting to learn down what path life has lead them. Like, say for instance, Mike......I haven't seen Mike since he was a Freshman in HS and I was a Senior. We had home room together. I've now visited with Mike via FB to find out that he is a helicopter pilot and is stationed somewhere in...

Incoherent ramblings!

Yet again it's been a few weeks since I've blogged. So pardon with me while I just ramble thru yet another "catch up" post. Basement........I've started working on the basement. The construction remnants are now removed (most of them anyway, I am waiting on M and the guys to remove the beams that held up the house while the walls were out). The goal for this week is to get the bleach treatment on the walls and floor finished. Hope to get the dry-lock paint on them next week. Then I need to figure out what color/texture will go on next. I've changed my mind so many times I can't keep up with myself! I'm open to suggestions......so leave me some email, or comments!!! (Especially if you've been thru a flood and have/had water issues. I'm not convinced that this "fix" was actually a fix, and that the basement will be dry.) AND, we are STILL waiting on the mason to come back and put the brick back on the naked house. When it rai...
