SWIM!

Image
We've spent a fair bit of time up at Grandma's at the pool. Ainz is becoming quite the little fish. She has the cutest tan line too!!! With Katie (aren't they a couple of cuties?!) Only Katie could convince her to jump in!

1987 Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well. She's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep; the colors of a rainbow. She is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every teardrop. A mother shows every emotion ..........happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow... and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love; your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time , not space...not even death!

Plowbaby turns 3 - The Cake

Image
My daughter only has one birthday a year, so I usually go "all-out". Last year, she had a Mickey and Minnie birthday. When asked what she wanted this year, she said very firmly "A Minnie party at Grandma's like last year. With fried chicken and swimming and balloons." Ok, that's cool by me if you can talk Grandma into hosting the location. (Yeah, like Grandma is gonna say "No"!) It's amazing how a soon-to-be-three-year-old can be so very clear on what she wants for her party. She picked pink, purple and white as her "colors". We had plates, cups, balloons, silverware, and The Cake in pink, purple and white. I used Mickey and Minnie balloons left-over from last year. Oh, and don't forget the coordinating M & M's too!!! (Told ya I can get a little carried away!) Ainz wanted a pink and white cake. I have the Pampered Chef checkerboard cake pans set. (Which by the way, is one of the few PC products that I hate). P

The Zoo Trip

Image
We didn't tell Ainz where we were headed when we left for our trip to the Wichita Zoo. All we told her that if she was a good girl after lunch (at Burger King, where she was more interested in the paper crown than eating!) we'd have a super special surprise for her. She thought we were going to a park with slides and swings. The Lion Display (yes, there is glass between them!) Playing in the misters on a hot day The Giraffe's : "they are so silly" I'm not so sure about this one! We had a great day, and are looking forward to visiting more zoos in the future.

Playing Catch-Up

So this is my first attempt at a blog. First off, I have to tell you that I'm not a great writer. I tend to write like I speak. Speak first, think later! Part of the reason in creating this blog is so I will have an archive of what's happening on the farm, of Ainsley growing up, and for the immediate future, a way to show friends and family the "mess we have with our house". Yes, I mean MESS. And no, I don't mean my housekeeping ability. We have a slight problem with our basement. Parts of the walls are cracked and falling in. Therefore, we (Mark) has excavated the earth from around the west side of the house, and we (Mark and the concrete guys) will be breaking out and re-pouring new walls. This should be an interesting experience. (I think I will go on an extended vacation until it's over!!!) I have taken tons of pictures and video, and hope to post them also. But for now, this post is a catch-up post. Let's go back about a month or so. June 6t
