Progress, we have progress!!!!!

Well, "next week" has finally arrived. The concrete guy was here last night and delivered the jack stands to jack up the house from inside the basement. And he was back tonight to CUT THE WALLS!!!! Yes, he got the walls cut. Meanwhile, Plowboy used the backhoe to excavate more dirt from around the house, and also the DOZER to remove the last large tree from the west side of the yard. (the sycamore). Oh, the yard looks sooooo bare and I miss the shade. But it was one of those things that had to be done. I can always plant more trees. This time I will plant Burr Oaks tho.

I have some pics and video that I will upload when I get time.....maybe tomorrow.

The plan now is to pull the walls out on Sunday, and on Monday, the concrete guys will be back to form it up, form the retaining walls, and pour the new walls. May be a 2 day process.

I'm not sure how much of the pulling of the walls I can bear to watch. It made me cringe just watching Plowboy on the dozer and the backhoe today. I do want to get pics and video tho.

Sixteen years ago today there was a terrible ice storm across Kansas. Sixteen years ago today there was also a wedding in the United Methodist Church in Cawker City, Kansas. That's where Plowboy and Plowgirl officially became PlowFamily! I'm glad that life has led us down the path that it has. We have a good life and a great little family. A day in the life......................

of me......during planting season. Most days go something like this: Up and at 'em after the "birthday's" on the morning show. (Ok, so 6:47 isn't really that early in the whole scheme of things!) Check email, facebook, newspapers. Off to a shower. Wake up Plowbaby and Plowboy, and get both moving. (not necessarily an easy feat!) Change the channel to "toonies" for Plowbaby, and try to get her to eat some breakfast and change her clothes and get ready for work/school. The goal is for her and I to be out the door BY 9. Again, I know....not real early.....but YOU haven't tried to get Miss Pokey around in the morning! Also in the mean time, get some laundry going, and dishes cleaned up from the night before. Drive up to the farm (or the last field from last night) to find the empty NH3 tanks from the night before. Hook up and head toward AgChoice.
